On November 7, 2019, the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) honored Howard Milstein with the George E. and Marie J. Doty Award to recognize his efforts to support research in geroscience. Howard is Founder and Chairman of the Milstein Medical Asian American Partnership (MMAAP) Foundation and Chairman, Milstein Program of Geriatrics.
AFAR supports the science of healthier aging and mechanisms of age-related disease. Its mission is to support and advance health aging through biomedical research and has provided grants to more than 4,100 scientists. Also recognized that evening was the actor Alan Alda, who was presented with AFAR’s Honorary Leadership Award.
