NEW YORK, NY – The Milstein Medical Asian American Partnership Foundation (MMAAP Foundation) hosted a holiday luncheon in celebration of the Chinese New Year at Dynasty restaurant in New York. The MMAAP Foundation brought together leadership and grant recipients to celebrate a very productive and successful year. In 2014, MMAAP Foundation offered eight awards; five fellowships awards and three project awards across the areas of geriatrics under the Irma and Paul Milstein Program for Senior Health, dermatology, and hematology. The Foundation has continued to support outstanding researchers at premier medical institutions and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing medical research in China, Asia, and the US by expanding to include Translational Medicine and Reproductive Medicine as additional funding areas for 2015 and beyond.
In attendance was Howard P. Milstein, the Chairman, and Sean X. Leng, MD PhD, the President of the MMAAP Foundation, along with the leadership of the organization. Honored at the luncheon were the current recipients of the fellowships from The Irma and Paul Milstein Program for Senior Health; Dr. Xiaoxuan Ning from Xijing Hospital, Fourth Military Medical University, Xi’an, Shanng Xi Province where she serves as the Associate Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Geriatrics; Dr. Min Ouyang who is an instructor and attending physician from the Department of Geriatrics at the Second Affiliated Hospital, Xiangya Medical College, Central South University, Changsha, Hunan Province; and Dr. Jintang Wang who is an Associate Professor from the Beijing Geriatrics Hospital, Beijing and was also a presenter at the MMAAP Foundation symposium on October 10th, 2014 in Beijing.
Building on the accomplishments of 2014, MMAAP Foundation is looking forward to another productive year as the Foundation will continue to bring together and fund exchanges among the best research, medical talent, and institutions.
